Week 387 of quarantine.
Every day seems the same even though everything has changed.
The boredom and mundaneness of repeating the same routine day after day is sinking in.
It’s natural to think about all that we are missing and would rather be doing.
But here’s the thing: you’re always missing out on something else you could be doing. You can’t be in two places at once right?
And boredom and missing out are thoughts, not emotions.
Thoughts that make you to feel anxious, unhappy and dissatisfied.
Thinking that things should be different than the way they are will always cause you to suffer.
Yes, we are limited by the quarantine and it sucks not to be able to do anything we want.
But you can dislike your situation and still feel good at the same time.
When you stop resisting reality and trying to distract from it, you can deliberately seek out the joy in it.
What’s more, you can fully experience peace and relaxation in the present moment.
It’s a skill worth cultivating during this time.
