I used to think that being self-confident required me to have certain things.
I thought when I had the perfect body, the professional degree, the high-paying job and a ring on it, I would feel confident.
But that turned out to be completely untrue.
I worked my butt off for all those things and when I had them?
I still felt insecure and anxious.
The truth is feeling confident isn’t something you earn.
It’s never based on something external to you.
Self-confidence is something you create from the inside out, based on the way you think about yourself.
When you truly internalize this, your self-confidence will never diminish in the face of obstacles, mistakes, or failures.
Because being self-confident means you know you’re worthy in spite of all that.
You view failure as an opportunity to learn and grow instead of a reflection of your worth.
You know that feeling an uncomfortable emotion like fear is the currency for achieving your dreams and desires.
It’s from this place that you can go after anything you want in life.
Willing to feel vulnerable so you can improve your marriage.
Willing to feel overwhelmed so you can stop yelling at your kids.
Willing to feel rejection so you can apply for a new job.
Willing to feel failure so you can pursue your entrepreneurial dreams.
Self-confidence is knowing that you can handle the discomfort, because it's harmless and won't last.
And it's knowing you will have your own back.
No. Matter. What.
If you’d like to learn how to feel more confident, I can help.
